Box office Collection Report: ‘Kammara Sambhavam’

Dileep’s ‘Kammara Sambhavam’ has opened to mixed reports during the weekend. While a section of the audience praised the movie for the experimental nature of the project, others found the movie not engaging enough. Well, there were no doubts in the air over one thing – box office performance of the movie. Box office tracking team, ‘Kerala Boxoffice’ has released the first day figure of ‘Kammara Sambhavam’. Earning INR 2.07 Cr on the opening day itself, this Dileep starrer is off to a flying start. The Kerala gross of INR 2.07 Cr also made ‘Kammara Sambhavam’ the top day 1 Kerala grosser of 2018, next only to Pranav Mohanlal starred ‘Aadhi’.

Released on April 14 across Kerala, ‘Kammara Sambhavam’ coincided with the release of two major Malayalam movies – ‘Mohanlal’ and ‘Panchavarna Thatha’. However, it was the Dileep starrer, which emerged the top performing movie of the weekend in Kerala box office. As far as the day 1 Kerala gross figures of the two other movies are concerned, box office tracking teams are yet to report. The two day collection report from Cochin Multiplexes, places ‘Kammara Sambhavam’ well ahead of the rest – INR 12.78 Lakh. On day 1, the movie clocked INR 6.42 Lakh, whereas on day 2, the figure stands at INR 6.36 lakh.

After the run of two days at Cochin Multiplexes, Manju Warrier – Indrajith starred ‘Mohanlal’ earned INR 4.61 lakh. ‘Panchavarna Thatha’, though recorded the slowest first day figure amongst the new releases, has gone ahead ‘Mohanlal’. At the end of two day box office run at Cochin multiplexes, ‘Panchavarna Thatha’ earned INR 4.96 Lakh. Along with the new releases, two past movies continued generating commendable footfalls in theatres. That said, ‘Sudani From Nigeria’ was the best performing one, and it even did better business than the recent releases. When the Sunday collection report from Cochin multiplexes was out, the movie was second only to ‘Kammara Sambhavam’. It also went onto past the INR 1Cr figure at Cochin Multiplexes. ‘Swathanthryam Ardharathriyil’ too continued posing threat to new releases.
