Biopic on NTR started rolling: Venkaiah Naidu clapped for Balakrishna

Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu has given the muhurat clap for the biopic project of NT Rama Rao. The project, titled NTR, will see Balakrishna essaying his real life father’s role. Interestingly, the movie got launched on March 29 – a date, which had seen several mega blockbusters of NTR getting released. Who else can forget the kind of business done by ‘Lavakusa’, ‘Patala Bhairavi’ and ‘Desodharakulu’. To be directed by Teja, the muhurat shot saw Balakrishna enacting the role of Dhuryodhana from ‘Dana Veera Sura Karna’. While attending the function, Venkaiah Naidu maintained that he has always been a huge fan of NTR and it was his privilege giving the muhurat clap for the biopic project of the star.

Coming from NTR’s home productions, the movie turned out to be the first shot in NTR’s ‘Horticultural Cine Studios’ in Nacharam. Though initially planned as a documentary, it was the insistence of Balakrishna which turned the project into a commercial project. Making it as a bilingual movie in Telugu and Hindi, ‘NTR’ is one of the most anticipated projects happening in Telugu cinema. During the occasion, Balakrishna commented that he would always be thankful to his father for giving the kind of life, which he enjoys now. He added that by enacting the real life of his father in reel, he wanted to give thanks to his father. ‘NTR’ will portray the life of the star: From a humble beginning as that of the son of farmer in Nimmakuru, and turning out to be the most revered idols in Telugu cinema: subsequently becoming the founder of Telugu Desham Party and becoming the CM of combined Andhra Pradesh.

Reports suggested that makers have already shot some portions between NTR and MGR. Commenting on the same, Teja maintained that Chennai would turn out to be one of the important locations for the movie. It has to be seen how the director is going to deal with the controversial ‘August Crisis’ of NTR’s rule. How the incumbent Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu would be reacting to the incident, if such a situation is going to be depicted in the film?
