Director Priyanandan was attacked by a group of people, near his house in Vallachira, Thrissur. While speaking about the incident, the director maintained that he would file a complaint in police and accused BJP activists behind the action. In line with the statement of Priyanandan, police has arrested an RSS activist, named Sarovar. With director adding that there was one more person behind the action, police has started an investigation on the same.
It is believed that the controversial comment made by the director on the Sabarimala issue, was the main reason behind the attack against him. Earlier, soon after becoming controversial, Priyanandan had removed his facebook post, though later he made it clear that he would stick with his opinion and would not kneel down before threats. A number of noted film personalities have come forward expressing their unhappiness over the attack against Priyanandan.
