It is Ravi Teja in for the Telugu remake of Vijay’s ‘Theri’

Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja experienced a mixed box office response last year. Well, he has always excelled in action movies and the actor has got his biggest hits in the form of action projects. He is all set to do yet another mass masala action entertainer. Well, this time he is sure to score it big at big screens. He will be acting in the remake of a mega blockbuster project. Ilayathalapathy Vijay starring ‘Their’ is the project, which has received the attention of Ravi Teja. The project will thus bring back Ravi Teja back to his cop avatar once again.

The untitled flick will see Catherine Teresa appearing as one of the heroines. It is reported that Catherine would be enacting the role essayed by Amy Jackson in the original version. However, we don’t have an idea about the other heroine of the project. Besides Amy Jackson, ‘Their’ also starred Samantha Akkineni. It is not known which heroine was roped in by the makers to essay Samantha’s role. Under the direction of Santhosh Srinivas of ‘Kandireega’ fame, this yet to be titled project of Ravi Teja is all set to commence shooting by the second half of this year. Top banner ‘Mythri Movie Makers’, will produce the flick. Fresh from the success of Ram Charan starring ‘Rangasthalam’, ‘Mythri Movie Makers’ is expected to repeat the box office saga once again with this action entertainer. Meanwhile, Ravi Teja would be busy shooting for ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’, which is being directed by Srinu Vaitla. Makers of ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’ are expected to wrap up the project, somewhere, later this year.

Earlier, Starring Ilayathalapathy Vijay in the lead role, Atlee directed ‘Theri’ got released in the year 2016. The cop avatar of Vijay pretty much impressed the audience and gone onto be one of the top grosser in the history of Kollywood. Earning well over INR 150 Cr during its box office journey, ‘Theri’ was also dubbed to Telugu, though it failed to find an appeal among the Telugu film goers.
