Priyamani is all set to make her presence felt in Telugu movies strongly this time. The talented actress will be appearing in a prominent role in the upcoming project Virata Parvam 1992. The movie, which is set against the backdrop of Naxalites of Telangana in the late 1980s, features Rana Daggubati and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles. Movie also stars Tabu in another important role.
Under the direction of Venu Udugula, Virata Parvam 1992 is said to have Priyamani appearing in the role of a folk singer, the character of which is loosely based on the rebellious singer Belli Lalitha. During the heydays of Maoist activities in the state, the 19 year old singer had incurred much hatred from Gangster Nayeem, who has reportedly tortured Belli for many days and eventually killed her.
