Superstar Rajinikanth was all set to conquer the box office space with his latest political – action entertainer ‘Kaala’. The movie, which was all set to hit big screens on April 27, however has come across an uncertain situation. The ongoing strike in Kollywood, has affected Tamil movies badly. The same has come to affect this Rajinikanth flick as well. Though makers haven’t spoken about an exact date, it is been believed that the movie has hit an indefinite postponement. Some sources even quote that ‘Kaala’ might not hit big screens in two months’ time from now. They point that the ongoing strike in Tamil cinema world, would create tremendous impact on the industry’ as a whole.
That said, makers of ‘Kaala’ were unavailable for making a comment on this. On the other hand, a section of the media, reports that ‘Kaala’ might not get released before June, this year. However, we are not in a position to clearly state the actual decision, which ‘Kaala’ makers have taken about the release date. Meanwhile, superstar Rajinikanth’s increased presence in political affairs, is expected to back the postponement of ‘Kaala’. The star has evidently spoken for the wholesome goodness of Tamil film industry. He has also produced a sound stand over the Cauvery water dispute as well. Since things are going in that way, ‘Kaala’ might be looking to hit big screens, once the issues got settled.
Directed by Pa. Ranjith, ‘Kaala’ will see a number of famed stars from various industries, making their presence felt in this Superstar flick. While Nana Patekar essays the main antagonist’s role, ‘Kaala’ also stars Samuthirakani, Huma Quresh and Anjali Patil in other prominent roles. Being the second collaboration between Rajinikanth and Pa. Ranjith, after their much talked ‘Kabali’, the upcoming movie had already gone on to be the most anticipated flick of this year. Close to 30 films are entangled over the issue of ongoing strike in Kollywood.
