Director Kamal has once again topped the headlines, when he made an alleged comment on the movie ‘Big B’. The movie, which has attained a cult following over the years, has got a number of catchy one – liners. Starring Megastar Mammootty in the lead role, ‘Big B’ is considered a path breaking movie in Mollywood. Well, veteran director Kamal has recently made a comment on ‘Big B’, wherein, he was seen criticizing the movie’s one – liner comments. It was while citing the one – liner dialogue from ‘Big B’ that refers to the changes which Kochi had undergone, which Kamal decided taking a dig at the movie. It however, seems like popular writer Unni R, who has penned the script for ‘Big B’, has decided replying back Kamal. Let’s take a look at the issue.
While attending the inaugural function of ‘Islamic Heritage Center’ in Fort Kochi, director Kamal has referred to one such a line from ‘Big B’. The comment, in which the hero addressed the changed state of affairs of Kochi, wasn’t politically corrected, according to the director. Criticizing the hero’s remark of Kochi has changed, Kamal maintained that Kochi hasn’t changed at all. He was of the opinion that, Kochi had never changed from its rich cultural history. He added that, if it was said the other way in a popular culture like cinema, it would be giving wrong messages to the youngsters. Well, Unni R was quick to respond to Kamal’s comments. He opined that not only just Kochi, but the entire world had evolved from the past. He was seen wondering over Kamal’s comments on Kochi.
Unni R said that Kochi had always kept a combination of different tastes. Addressing the need for changes taking place on recurring intervals, Unni R, however went onto touch upon the political state of affairs of the country as well. Unni R was of the opinion that the director should have referred another dialogue or comment, had he really wanted to address the apolitical – anti social activities taking place around the country.
