Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi has gifted an amount of INR 5 Lakh for Indian athlete Gomati Marimuthu. The sprinter, who has earned gold medal for Indian in the Asian athletic championship in the 800 meter sprint category, was earlier awarded a cash prize of INR 10 lakh by DMK leader MK Stallin. Gomati, who has fought all the adverse conditions to make her country proud, had undergone through some unimaginable situations, before topping the Asian athletic championship.
Earlier, when asked about her journey till now, Gomati had attributed her success to her late father Marimuthu, who toiled all his life to nurture the talent of his daughter. Marimuthu, who had succumbed to death after fighting with cancer, was regarded by Gomati as her God.
