Why Megastar dropped Uday Krisha project with Mohanlal?

Megastar Mammootty has given innumerous hits to Malayalam film industry. Since the start of his career, he is been considered a hero material by the makers. He also holds the distinction of being the actor with the most number films in a lead role, second only to Prem Nazir. Well, the star has turned down a number of projects, which incidentally has given birth to new stars. Superstar Mohanlal, on the other hand, started off from villainous roles and transformed into comic roles and finally walked into superstardom. Unlike other film industries, Malayalam film industry has seen a number of projects featuring both the stars. They have acted in more than 50 movies together. However, going in line with the reports, Megastar has dropped a particular project with Mohanlal, recently. To be scripted by Uday Krishna, the exact reason behind Megastar turning down the project, is not known. However there is an interesting story circulating about the reason.

The script of the movie, upon finishing, was first narrated to the Megastar and the star has immediately given nod for it. The star even said that he would produce the project. Interestingly, superstar Mohanlal too has shown his interest in the project, upon approached by the makers with the script. That said, the movie was being planned as a single project featuring both the stars after mega success of ‘Twenty Twenty’. However, according to the reports, something has forced Megastar turning down the project later. He is said to have backed off from the plans of producing the project, followed by completely walking off from the project. We don’t have much a knowledge about the actual reason behind Megastar’s decision. Paparazzi media have already started penning stories according to their creative sparkles. Some have come up with reports that Megastar was offered the role of an anti hero, while Mohanlal would be doing that of hero’s role.

Both the stars are yet to confirm the news, nor are the filmmakers. It is not easily digestible for a film buff to hear such reports being spread about the decision of Megastar. During a career, spanning for over four decades, he has done almost all kinds of roles. So, nothing can be believed, until we get an official note from any credible source regarding these reports.
