Actress abduction case court might appoint women judge

Kerala High Court seems be heading towards making a decisive step in the actress abduction case. The apex court of the state has inquired about the availability of a woman judge to hear the proceedings of the case. It was while critiquing the current social situation that the HC reached in on the suggestion. The court has maintained that the number of registered cases against women and children have steeply increased in the past six months.

Stating that the current situation forces the victim to undergo mentally tormenting hours before the accused, multiple times, the court was of the opinion that this curbs the accused to give statements without fear. However, a final announcement regarding the appointment of woman judge, can be made only after checking the availability of women judges in the district courts of Eranakulam and Thrissur.
