Kamal wanted ‘Vishwaroopam 2’ ahead of Rajini’s ‘Kaala’..?

Ever since both were given superstar titles, Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth have been in a game with their movies. Both of their movies used to collect more than any other star’s movie in Tamil Nadu. Both approached films with different attitudes and their films reflected the same. They continued the same, even after both of them landing in politics. Their styles of politics are as different as cheese and chalk. That said, both are yet to make a complete retirement from films. They have some ambitious projects in their kitty and will soon release them all. While Rajinikanth has got ‘Kaala’ and ‘2.0’ in the pipeline, Kamal is not far behind in hype with his ‘Vishwaroopam 2’. However, the interesting thing is that two movies from these two superstars are now competing with each other in order to reach first to theatres.

Kamal Haasan’s ambitious project ‘Vishwaroopam 2’ has completed the censorship formalities. The movie, after earning a U/A certificate, is reportedly gearing up for release this summer. Close sources to Ulaganayagan reveal that he might soon release the movie, once the ongoing strike in Tamil Nadu comes to an end. While we don’t have a clear picture about the star’s exact plans with ‘Vishwaroopam 2’ release, it is believed that he is pushing the movie hard to get released before Rajinikanth’s ‘Kaala’. Sequel to the much discussed and hit ‘Vishwaroopam’, this Kamal Haasan project stars Rahul Bose, Pooja Kumar, Andrea Jeremiah and Shekhar Kapoor in other important roles. Meanwhile, Rajinikanth’s ‘Kaala’, which was all set to hit big screens on April 27, has reportedly been pushed to Eid this year. That said, makers of this Pa. Ranjith directorial haven’t made an official announcement regarding the release.

With both these superstar movies having enough buzz around them, the movies will surely take box office by storm. However, the industry is curious about whether they would be conveying their political idea with these movies or not.
