Mulakupadam films backed off from Kaappaan plans

Off late, ‘Mulakupadam Films’ has turned out to be one of the most aggressive players in Mollywood. Led by Tomichan Mulakupadam, the production – distribution company has managed to deal with a number of highly profitable ventures. Well, the company has reportedly backed off from distributing a highly anticipated project. The Suriya – Mohanlal starring Tamil project Kappaan is the one that was left behind by ‘Mulakupadam Films’.

Now, this comes as a setback for the fans of Mohanlal and Suriya in Kerala. Traditionally a strong performing turf for Suriya films, Kerala distribution rights of Suriya movies have always been sold out like hot cakes. Earlier reports suggested that ‘Mulakupadam Films’ have reached in on terms with Kaappaan makers, for a skyrocket price. However, most of the Tamil movies distributed by ‘Mulakupadam Films’, have ended up as duds in Kerala. Close sources also suggest that a lackluster performance by the latest Suriya project – NGK in Kerala, too is believed to have contributed to the decision of ‘Mulakupadam Films’.
