Mollywood was on the verge of an ugly spat, when Santhosh Sivan and Priyadarshan announced their respective projects with the Big M’s. Both the directors have declared their projects based on the legendary figure of ‘Kunjali Marakkar’. While Santhosh Sivan teamed up with Megastar Mammootty, Priyadarshan was all set to reunite with Mohanlal. Amidst a confused state of affair, Santhosh Sivan has come up with an official announcement of his project. With everyone eagerly looking at the reaction from the other camp, Priyadarshan decided backing off from his plans. With Priyadarshan himself stating that it won’t be good for the industry, if two big players come up with similar concepts, Mollywood was finally happy, that it avoided a star war. However, back then Priyadarshan issued a strong statement that he would come up with his project, if the Santhosh Sivan project was unable to kick start within eight month’s time.
Well, the latest reports suggest that Santhosh Sivan has quit from his ‘Kunjali Marakkar’ plans. Though the ace cinematographer – director hasn’t overtly stated about dropping ‘Kunjali Marakkar’, it is widely believed that he had moved onto his next project – Sin. The twitter post gained quite a lot of attention that, Mollywood has started doubting Santhosh Sivan’s ‘Kunjali Marakkar’ plans. During the twitter post, he maintained that the movie would be a bilingual project. The movie would be produced by ‘Invar Films’, California. It stars Javed Jaffrey and Shaylee Kishan in the lead roles.

Earlier, when Santhosh Sivan – Mammootty team’s ‘Kunjali Marakkar’ got officially announced, Mollywood virtually celebrated the event. A number of stars including Dulquer Salmaan shared their joy over the project. With Santhosh Sivan now, moving on from the ambitious project, all eyes are into Priyadarshan. That said, it has to be seen whether Priyadarshan would be issuing a statement regarding the same.
