The last year saw Tovino Thomas turning out to be a bankable star. Marking a new high, his ‘Oru Mexican Aparatha’ catapulted him to stardom. Similarly, his ‘Godha’ and to the recent, ‘Mayanadhi’ too tasted success at the box office. He was also appreciated for his performance in Manju Warrier starred ‘Aamy’. Well, he is all set to widen his fan belt and will soon be seen acting in a Tamil flick. Starring opposite to Dhanush in ‘Maari 2’, Tovino opined that it was one of the most challenging roles of his acting career. While he was reluctant to divulge much about his character or the movie, Tovino maintained that there was no second thought, before signing in the project.
Sequel to the hit project ‘Maari’, this Dhanuh entertainer is right now into the post production stage. In an interview given to a leading media house, Tovino went onto comment on how he landed in ‘Maari 2’. The actor further revealed that he turned down a number of projects, for grabbing the mass masala entertainer with Dhanush. That said Tovino added that he would be appearing in two different get ups for ‘Maari 2’. Now, that will be interesting to see as Tovino has got a penchant for trying out different getups. Anyways, he was damn sure over his characters in ‘Maari 2’ getting noticed and giving him big ticket to Kollywood. Under the production of Dhanush’s ‘Wunderbar Films’, ‘Maari 2’ will Sai Pallavi pairing opposite to Dhanush.
Meanwhile, the star has got a number of interesting projects in the pipeline. His Malayalam – Tamil bilingual movie ‘Abhi Anu’ is finally expected to hit big screens soon this year. The other interesting movies, which are undergoing post production procedures are – ‘Theevandhi’, ‘Oru Kuprasidha Payyan’ and ‘Maradona’. It is learnt that ‘Theevandi’ will be his first major release this year in a lead role.
