Actor Mahesh files defamation case against Baiju Kottarakkara

Rivalry between people from filmy world is not a new thing. We have seen a number of high profile rivalry instances in Indian film industry. Malayalam film industry is no different in this aspect as we have a number of examples before us. Out from many, only few have moved onto court and gone for legal battle. It seems like we have a legal battle coming up. Actor Mahesh has come forward with filing a defamatory case against director Baiju Kottarakkara. According to the complaint filed by Mahesh, the director had allegedly made some highly derogatory personal comments against him. It was while giving interview to a media house, which Baiju Kottarakkara made some marked comments against Mahesh.

The root cause for all these goes back to the days of ‘actress abduction case’. While actor Dileep was jailed over the incident, the industry was seen polarized with different opinions. Director Baiju Kottarakkara was amongst the frontrunners, of the group, who believed that Dileep was actually involved in the issue. On the other hand, Mahesh, along with many others, defended the actor strongly. Soon then, there formed a rift between these two parties and they started making derogatory comments against each other. During one such an instance, which director Baiju made some personal comments against Mahesh, which hasn’t gone well with the actor. The director even called the actor a beggar, who begs before actor Dileep. A number of similar comments were made by director Baiju. Though the incident took place some time ago, Mahesh seems not ready to forget all those easily.

Since the actor has officially filed a complaint against the director, it has to be seen how things are going to shape. Both the parties were unavailable for a comment. Whether the director intends settling the case in an off court manner, or not, is not known. In the past, we have seen a number of similar cases being settled in an off court manner.
