If you ask about the best actor – music director combo of Tamil cinema, Dhanush – Anirudh team is sure to be on the list. Well, there must be classic contenders for the top spot. But, the combo of Dhanush – Anirudh deserves to be mentioned for their collaboration in recent times. The duo has delivered hits with such a huge scale and most of the time, turned chart toppers. Why we are mentioning about this now, is that they are all set to team up for a project. Anirudh confirmed that he would soon be teaming up with Dhanush for a project, which will be completed by 2019.
While we haven’t seen the duo teaming up for a while, this news must be refreshing for all their fans. Not much is not known about the project, it is learnt that the movie is still on the discussion stage. When contacted, both were unavailable for comment; while spokespersons of both maintained that an official confirmation would soon be followed. Earlier, it was speculated that all wasn’t well between Dhanush and Anirudh. The rumour got spread in the town, when Dhanush decided roping in Sean Roldan for ‘VIP 2’, instead of Anirudh. It was Anirudh, who composed music for ‘VIP’, and the songs were all hugely popular back then. Later on, when Dhanush announced ‘Maari 2’, all expected Anirudh to be back on the board. Contrary to the popular perception, it was Yuvan Shankar Raja, who got the charge of composing music for the movie.
Anirudh is probably the one music director, who has composed some of the most memorable songs for Dhanush movies. It was under his music composition, which Dhanush received nationwide attention – Why this Kolaveridi… from the movie ‘3’. The duo teamed up for a number of hit projects such as ‘Thanga Magan’, ‘Ethir Neechal’, ‘Nannum Rowdy Dhaan’, ‘Kaakki Sattai’ and to name the rest. Apart from ‘Thanga Magan’, all the rest starred other actors, but were the production ventures of Dhanush. It seems like good days are back for the duo.
