Suriya not part of Mammootty project ‘Yatra’

Upcoming Telugu project ‘Yatra’ has got all the buzz, which are usually associated with a high profile superstar project in Tollywood. Well, the movie is sure to be a treat for Malayalee audiences as well. Having Megastar Mammootty being part of the project, the movie will find an appeal amongst both Telugu – Malayalee movie going public. Megastar’s role in the movie is that of late. YS Rajasekhara Reddy. The movie is touted to be the biopic of the ex Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. Ever since the star has shared the first look picture of the project through social media corners, it went onto create a frenzy amongst the fans of Megastar. It was widely believed that the upcoming Telugu project will also feature Suriya along with Megastar Mammootty.

Under the direction of Mahi Raghav, the movie, reportedly has roped in Suriya to essay an important role in it. According to the reports from social media corners, Suriya would be playing the role of Mammootty’s son in ‘Yatra’. The news received widespread attention from everywhere and Suriya appearing as YS Jaganmohan Reddy, is been viewed with much an interest by not just film buffs, but by political circles as well. As he received numerous queries regarding the same, director Mahi Raghav has come up with an official statement. The ‘Paathshala’ director commented that he would be happy to have Suriya on the board. He however added that, Suriya was not part of the project. He further commented that only Mammootty and Posani Krishna were officially part of the project right now.

With director himself turning down reports of Suriya being part of the project, it has really let down the fans of Suriya. However, with the director maintaining that he would love to have Suriya on the board, chances are still open for Suriya being part of ‘Yatra’. Into the story of the movie, it is reported that ‘Yatra’ would be dealing mainly with the three month long padayatra taken place in 2003. The tragic air crash death of YSR in 2009, did exert a huge impact in Andhra Pradesh. To be produced by Vijay Chilla and Shashi Devi under the banner of ‘70mm Entertainments’, ‘Yatra’ has officially kick started the production on April 9.
